They had a great time and returned just a wee bit sunburned. Matt had an extra round of golfing later that month when his father-in-law, Brooks, took him out with his new brother-in-laws.
Saturday June 8th was the day and the weather could not have been more perfect. We turned up early at the Yakima Arboretum to set up and mingle with Kristen's family (who are awesome!). One quick run to Wal-Mart for a cake knife, a few sick kids in the car, and a little windy fun with my skirt couldn't break the festivities of the day. Matt's friend, Navid, played classical guitar during the ceremony.
Best man feeling awesome. I love the concentration on Matt while they wait for Kristen. Dana's wearing his: "Must not cry, men don't cry" face.
Exchanging rings. Bishop Smith from Yakima 3rd performed the marriage. I love this decoration. They covered up the arboretums Yakima Heritage board with a white cloth, hung clothesline, and then hung photos of the bride and groom. So cute.
The reception started right after the wedding and it was beautiful. The sun was just setting and they had the most delicious buffet dinner. We were so excited to see Dana's whole family of aunts, uncles, and cousins from all over the state.
I totally forgot to get a photo of the car before they drove away but Dana did him proud with some last minute ribbons and icing (thank you cake) on the windows. It was a beautiful day and I promise to add the professional photos once her uncle posts them. Congrats Matt and Kristen!!
