Keep it Fresh

So, every few weeks Dana gets a haircut from his younger brother, Matt. And it's always looked about the same...until yesterday. Dana made the mistake of telling Matt to 'Keep it Fresh'. Apparently 'fresh' to Matt meant super skinny sideburns. The upside, our Young Men think its super cool. So, sleep tight everyone...like Dana's sideburns.

Christmas and New Year's

We finished out 2011 with style. First, crossing the mountains to spend a wonderful Christmas Eve with Dana's brothers and parents. What Christmas trees look like in Western Washington...
Opening presents...
Dana's mom actually made these for him. They're amazing! They even have tassels.
Christmas morning we awoke, opened presents, and found a LOT of fun stuff to play with. Just a few of the favorites: a popcorn machines from Dad Kitchen, a lovely putting green (which he's taking back...conquered it in 10 tries), a leather man-purse (Dana insists I call it a briefcase, but we all known better), a rowing machine, and candy!

The day after Christmas, we once again tried our hand at snow shoeing. The snow was not cooperative so we ended up taking off the snow shoes and just going for a nice walk over hard packed snow...still fun.

New Year's Eve we hunkered down all set to watch the ball drop in NY at 9PM. Unfortunately, after sitting through half of the top 40 countdown, we quickly realized the ball would not drop until 10PM. So, we waited. Then, as 10 drew closer and still no countdown clock, we realized they were going to make us wait until it was ACTUALLY 12:00 for the ball to drop (live my tookus). A funny end to the story, we stayed up a bit longer to play Harry Potter Wii (best Christmas gift ever) and when we turned it off at 11:09, we realized only news was on. Yeah, turns out they dropped the ball at 11:00 our time. Does that make any sense? So, we missed the ball dropping, but did get to say Happy New Years right before we fell asleep.

The rest of the weekend was sleeping, eating, and getting outside. It's been wonderful! We had such a fun year and we expect good things in 2012. Happy New Year!!
