I'm an American

I'm catching up on posts and I know you will all be bored soon so you'll have time to read. Dana and I got a new calling at church. We are the Primary 5 teachers so we teach 5 year olds. They are always a hoot and we love the calling. Here are some of our favorite answers:
Q: We're having our Christmas party, do you know who might be there? A: Jazz from Transformers?
Q: (dana to little girl visiting) And where are you from? A: I'm from America
Yeah for new experiences in the Church!

Carol of Lights

So Tech is really a pretty cool school as we're finding out. Early in December each year they string up hundreds of red and white lights on buildings over campus and the whole town gathers to watch a program out in the science quad and then we count down and bam! Lights go on. It was freezing, I won't lie, and we spent about thirty minutes watching nothing but men with flares on the ends of sticks walking by but it was worth it. Sorry the lights don't show up better--just trust us that they are way cooler than the lights your schools put up:) The guy with the flare is one of our mascots (he looks like a cartoon character) and the Red Raider was there with his horse. A great start to this Christmas season!

Twas the night before finals

Twas the night before finals and despite the lovely snow
Not a thing could be looked at except the book for Civ Pro.
The CD was blaring with some nasal hum dee dee
About a legalise case and rule 14(b)
The husband had holed himself up in the room
With his whiteboard and markers and all the books too
And the wife was passed out on the front room floor
The TV deadly silent lest he should hear it through the door
She could not make the dinner for the pots would clash and clink
The dishes had piled up, they were "soaking" in the sink
And though the wife would love to peek inside the room to see
Like with angry grizzly bears, it best to simply let him be
But Torts was gone and that nasty Contracts too
And Civ Pro was all there was left for him to do
So she stared at all the popcorn that was stuck upon the ceiling
And tried her best not to move, till her arm lost all its feeling
The hours ticked right on and now the wife would like
To wish you all a Merry Christmas...and may finals take a hike!
