This would normally be several blog posts but I find myself too busy to stop and blog as of late so you get it all at once (lucky you!) Here's what the Gailans have been up to all month...
This photo is hard to see but a wild memory. During Priesthood session of Conference I was at a friend's house for a ladies/kids party and we heard a crash and raced outside and yes, that is a car that barreled off the freeway and crashed through her neighbors fence. So grateful it didn't come through Brittney's yard where the kids were playing. They sure did love the fire trucks and cop cars that showed up though.
Of course we'd been testing out baby gear. Dana was checking to see if Clark will fit in his baby carrier. Clark = rice bag in this scenario.
We also got a shnazy new stroller as a gift (thank you!!!) and I put it together all by myself. Once Sarah arrived and informed us how to unlock the front wheel and put on the seat correctly, it was perfect. Her kids even tried it out so this is now Woodbury approved.
One Saturday we had a work Shred day in the morning and then raced off to a death march (uh...hike) with the Hartmans, Grows, and McCrackens. It was brutal but such a pretty view. That's the Rosa dam below across the river.
It was kind of hard to complain when these little cuties were making a bee-line to the top. I love Annie's little pink backpack:)
Some of the kids, however, had tiny legs and had to be carried. Dana manned up and carried Xander most of the way up on his shoulders. It was really windy and Xander's nose was really running...he left Dana a nice present on his hair:) Ummm...ewww.
We stopped for lunch. Dana's beef jerky was a hit.

And just when the kids thought they couldn't go on anymore, someone spotted a horse in the distance and that reenergized the group.
A fun/scary part of being in the RS presidency is planning for big Sunday events like Mother's day. I wanted to give the ladies a cookie in a plastic bag. This is what Gina talked us into instead:
Yes, those are adorable tiny paper purses filled with candy. Gina embellished these later with a flower and a sweet saying. Oh. My. Goodness. I am surrounded by crafty ladies. They were a huge hit today. And a special shout out to my hubby who helped put my 30 together.
Have I ever mentioned we have the best friends ever? No seriously, we do. We got a surprise visit from a few of them one FHE. They brought their kids for a pre-baby shower. I'm a little hesitant to have a full baby shower just in case but they couldn't let us head down to Arkansas without some kind of a send off. They brought cupcakes, brownies, ice cream and lots of gifts from so many families in the ward. It was overwhelming to experience that kind of love.
Look at the cute stuff they gave us. We are so very blessed to know these amazing people! Thank you everyone!!
A week later we got invited by our boss, Ben, to come to a Fiesta fundraiser so we made a night of it with some other co-workers. They had a full band and dancers all the way from Mexico.
It was a blast. Love the Fiesta Foods shout out in the back. It really was such a funny night and a nice break from our usual date nights.
Oh yes, we bought one of these. We have the receipt just in case the hospital needs to make sure it's meets their state requirements (yes, I've heard that happens) but we felt like we needed to get it now just in case. It has little owls. Doesn't that just kill you?
And then, we got more rocks. I know, I know,
what where we thinking? We just can't seem to learn. We wanted to do one more project in the front before baby time but of course we overestimated our rocks again:) This is the pile AFTER we've already used all we needed. Thankfully we have friends in the ward who are happy to take our rocks.
You have to admit the final project is nice, though. Dana toiled all morning in 20 mph wind. We love the end result and plan to put in some bushes for color.
And that brings us to yesterday. For our last pre-Clark outing, we headed up to Seattle with Dana's brother, Matt and his wife, Kristen for the marriage of Dana's other brother, Stephen. We spent most of the day touring around Pike's Place market just enjoying a beautiful day and of course some Chihuahua's dressed up like the three amigos.
We saw a mock water drill that I think they have to perform before a cruise ship takes off.

Then we headed over to the Bothell for the ceremony and a wonderful dinner. Don't they look so happy!
We got back late and I woke up frantic because I was teaching the RS lesson (which went great even if my video never happened) and found this on the kitchen table:) yes, that reads Clark's Mom. The present was Frozen (which if you haven't seen yet shame on you) but really any present would have been the best. We've been waiting a long time to celebrate Mother's and Father's day.
If any of you see this today and are wondering, his official due date is May 16th so anytime this week we are expecting a call. Again, thanks to everyone for keeping us busy and sane this last month.
