Somebody's 29...

It's Dana!!! This year for his birthday we took the whole Gailan fam (plus Matt's girlfriend Tia) out to Red Robin (which I think stays in business only because of birthdays...four in the hour we were there). It was great to get together. Dana, Matt (who turns 25 on Thursday), and his folks (minus the football cake his mom made)

The boys and the girls. P.S. That coat is new. Doesn't Dana look schnazzy? He even got a compliment from a lady at the jail. Awesome.
At home, we pulled out the classic Birthday Pie......and would have opened presents except Dana opened his present last Saturday. Can you tell he loves it? Maybe a little too much...

Happy 29th Birthday, D-Money! You've accomplished so much this year and been such a wonderful husband....and you're not listening to me at all are you because you're watching golf on the IPad? Ah, well. Happy Birthday, anyway.

Happy Halloween

Our Halloween rocked!! We started with a wild and crazy youth dance (and before you ask: yes, Bro. Gailan and I tore up the dance floor).
We went as Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head (I'm a potato just out of the oven and Dana's not quite ripe yet). And, no, I have no idea why I'm touching his nose in this pic.

On Saturday, we had our 7th Annual Gailan Carve-Off. It was amazing and we had some great competition from the carvers. Dana put in an excellent half moon entry. It was simple. Classic. Very Dana.
The gourd was submitted by one of our younger carvers. It's a throne...we think.
Coloring at the kids table (the other kids were boys so they weren't coloring...they were running around chasing a ball)
Saturday night we had our ward Trunk or Treat. No photos from that but the costumes were amazing!! All this build up and then on Halloween we...hid inside our house. Seriously, we turned off all the lights so we didn't have a repeat of last year where two kids showed up and we had to turn them away empty handed. So this year, we shut off the lights, turned on a movie, and still got two visitors:) Luckily they were both our neighbors so they understood when we didn't have candy for them. All in all, a rather spectacular October and a great Halloween!!
