I have a JOB!!!

Ok, I was going to try to wait until I actually signed the papers and everything but I'm too excited. I got a call this morning and was offered the Senior Business Assoc. position for the High Performance Computer Center at Texas Tech. What does that mean? I have no idea, but it's a job and it's close to Dana's building and I am stoked! So yeah for me! But now I can tell you the other funny places I interviewed at.
Coming in at number 2: The Psychiatric Medical ward at a correctional facility. That's barbed wire, three ID checks walking in the building and lots of white walls. Really the people were so cool and I almost wanted a job there for the shock factor but Texas Tech is closer and well, mother, I was thinking of you:)
And the winner by a hair: AAA Bail bond. Yes, bail bond. The job description said law interest a plus so I'm thinking a law firm, right? No. The lady who runs is was so adorable but within ten minutes of being there I met a very nice convict late in his payments and my very first bounty hunter (yes, he had already caught one fleer that day!). He looked like Dog the Bounty Hunter only old with a hat and white beard. So, again for Dana and mom's sake I said, er, no.
But the happy news is I have a job and I feel so blessed that the Lord answered my prayers and is taking care of our family. We love you all and thanks for your prayers and support!

Misc.

Before we left Utah, we had a little t-time with the Leskos so here are the pictures. There are no photos of me because, well, i deleted them:) Below is Becca's bridal shower and some of the old roomies. Man I miss those girls already. Best part of the whole thing was Emma buying the exact same outfit (even the color) that I did. Great minds think alike!
This is another Navy Pier picture. I just think we look cute and I like the little sailboat in the background.

And finally, our apartment pictures. Dana spent about 12 hours putting together our table, bookshelves and bed. It's a lot more spacious than our other apartment...except the kitchen. This view is looking through our pass through and yes, that is the only drawer you are looking at in the whole kitchen. Ahhh...the fun.

Chicago!!!

Last week we spent a few days before the family reunion with Mom and Dad Kitchen and other siblings in the windy city. Here are a few photos of our fabulous time. Above is mom, Sarah, Ethan and me at the botanical gardens. My favorite is the little bonsai tree that looks like a little forest.

The next day we went to the Science Museum. Dana tried to act all strong, but then I caught him trying to milk this cow so...
We went with Sarah and Taylor for a little tour of Navy Pier. It was a HOT day but we enjoyed the outdoors all the same. The next day we went with them to see the musical Wicked, but, as always seems to be the case when Dana and Taylor get together, it was pouring rain as we exited so there are no pictures:) It was the most fun we've had in a while and we want to thank mom and dad for making it happen!

Everything's bigger!

Hello all and yes we are alive. We made it safely down to Texas with only a few problems and we even managed to buy furniture like real grown-ups and everything. So now I have my coveted washer/dryer and I LOVE it...i am never giving it back. We also have a bed, yes, a bed that we can both sleep on at the same time! So the Gailans are sitting pretty. Dana starts law school tomorrow and we have all his books and he's only a little bit nervous so wish him luck. Well, more later with pictures of the chicago trip but for now we are here! Oh by the way, the lizards are bigger, that's what the title refers to:) We found one in our apartment as a welcome home gift. He shall be mine and I shall call him squishy.
