Our Ward is Awesome

For my first unofficial act as Relief Society President, I helped pull off an awesome Fiesta adults only dinner at the church. We may have over planned the food but it made for a tasty night. And the games were hilarious!

I personally think a giant pinata should now be a part of every adult activity because it is funny to watch and also therapeutic for the participants. 

Dana volunteered weirdly fast for the hula hoop contest. He said he was pretty sure he remembered how to hula and these pictures sure look impressive. The reality, however, was a hard no. No, he does not remember how to hula:)

Neither of us participated in the limbo contest because we love our bodies and respect that we are old but thankfully our friends are not so self aware.

I seriously love our ward!

Do you want to build a snowman?

After our several dumpings of snow, we got desperate this weekend and had to get outside. Well, one of us did anyway and I nominated Dana to be the good parent. So off my boys went to try and make a snowman. It was heavy packing snow which made for an extra funny moment when Dana tried to heave a 50 lb snowball up to make the body. 

 Little miss Char was soooooo mad that she didn't get to go outside. Even when she got to watch a show, she kept running to the window to point and cry.

 And then just for fun, Dana decided to see how big a snowball they could make and took up most of the snow in the yard in the process.

 Clark decided to help by throwing snowballs at him:)

Valentine Loves

Happy Valentine's Day 2019!! Our little cuties have stolen our hearts and our sanity. This photo shoot was a true representation of our kids in all their silly glory.

I figured they were stuck up high and thus would be less wiggly. Wrong! They both decided to do this weird monkey lip pose and nothing else.

But I did snap this gem of Charlotte. Her hair is killing me people!

Oh rats! She got one!

Yes, Clark might be weirdly stroking his foot but we're calling it a success. Side note: Clark's valentine's party at school was a major hit. He thought the whole day was just for him (and I did not burst his bubble) and he came home with a HUUUUGE brown paper sack full of cards, candy and even a banana (thanks Mrs. Sydney!). When I picked him up he has so much pink cupcake on his lips I thought for a second he'd swallowed a glitter chapstick or something. Happy V Day Everyone!

Random Winter Time

There's been a lot of random days this winter. And a lot of random announcements. Mom got released from her Young Women calling and it still waiting to be called as the RS President (thanks snowstorm for shutting down church and delaying that for a whole week:)). Aunt Kristina is now the Stake YW Secretary and is gonna rock.

But life chugs on no matter what's going on with the grownups.

Char got her own little waterbottle after the millionth time of stealing Clarks from his room.

 We had pirate day at the library and Clark loved his hat.

Clark decided he really wanted lots of photos of him and Char one day but never actually looked at the camera.

Char randomly decided to love books and now brings them to us every night to read. The penguin book is a favorite, just like it was for Clark.

The kids try to help with laundry and usually one of them ends up in Dad's clothes and then we laugh a lot at them. Char could actually maybe pull this look off though:)

Char figured out the horsey and now he is her best friend. 

 One day Clark asked for all of this randomness for lunch and then, to defy my wildest dreams, he ATE it all without complaint. Yes, even the carrots.

I keep experimenting with Char's hair and we think she may almost be ready for a pony tail. This makes her look about 20.

 Not to be outdone, Clark and I had a weird face battle one afternoon. Thankfully there was no camera poised to capture my looks but rest assured they were spectacular.

Snowy Weather...Having a Blast

Snow. Snow. Snow. It's the theme of this month. After last year getting nada, I guess we were due. I just didn't imagine it all coming down in TWO DAYS!! But here we are.

Clark had his first snow day so we made a fort. It was Mommy's best attempt and seriously paled to the awesomness the Washburns showcased this week but we made the best of it. And it fill a whole 45 minutes of the day....(head slap!)

When Charlotte went down for a nap, we went out to shovel. Dana had to take the big shovel to the office to dig them out of the buckets of snow West Valley got, which left Clark and Mom to share the ridiculously small red shovel:) Thank goodness Clark mostly wanted to use the snowball maker.

Then on Saturday there was more snow, snOW, SNOW!! We got a full foot but you couldn't really tell because of the 40 MPH wind that picked our snow up and dumped it....I'm not sure where but whoever got our snow you are most welcome to it. Dana was just excited he didn't need to shovel again.

 Except...it kept snowing and the wind died down so by morning we had a good 8 inches. Church was cancelled and so we went out to enjoy. Poor Miss Char does not have snow gear and had to be held the entire time and was very offended.

More snow in the schedule for the next 10 days so if you don't hear from us for a while, it's because we are buried under a mound somewhere. Hello spring. Where are you?

Preschool Play

Clark is waaaaay into preschool. You could say he's fully drunk the Kool-Aid. Every week he comes home with a new best friend (this week is is Dillan). I wish I could post all the funny stuff that goes on but I'm not there to watch it and only catch snipets filtered through my 4 year old eyes. It's very weird to have him experiencing things without me but I can tell he's growing more independent every day. And thankfully, Sherry Allen takes great photos!
