The Best Pre Valentine's Day Ever (Seriously!)

So I have a lot of posts to catch up on (girl's trip in florida, CFP studying (not actually a post, just something I'm avoiding)) but today I only have one post...and it's awesome.
Dana and I have been talking for some time about how we (read: me!) hate winter and how maybe a sport would make us (again: me!) hate winter less. We can't ski and I don't have a three year old to make sledding okay so we thought maybe snowshoeing. Turns out they rent those things and so today, we went on a romantic Valentine's Day snowshoeing trip.
We went up to a trail my boss suggested and the walk itself was pretty uneventful. We found out what a campground looks like in the winter: desolate. We got hit by some pine cones. We heard the crack of trees as they toppled over in the gale force winds. The snow was a bit hard but we really really liked it all. Here are some photos:

I feel very Aspen chic in my outfit. The coat was walmart (20 bucks!)

What happened after the walk was what made the whole trip worth it. First, we found out the answer to that age old question: If a tree falls in the woods, does anybody hear it?

WE HEAR YOU! NOW GET OUT OF OUR WAY! Thankfully, trapped on our side of the log was a guy with a hammer. Wait, did you mean a hatchet? No, I meant a hammer. But somehow he hammered his way through that log and we rode on past.  All that standing around made us hungry, so we stopped at Whistlin' Jack's Lodge for some dinner, stared at some Elk heads, Moose heads, Deer heads (you get the idea) and then headed home. We thought our trip was done. We were wrong. Somehow we found ourselves wedged between not 1, not 2, but SEVEN PT Cruisers heading to Yakima. A blue one, a convertible, even two faux wood paneled ones. They all had bumper stickers. They all said: YakiVegas PT Cruiser Club. :) So, best Valentine's Day ever, obviously. If you ever get a chance, go snowshoeing. Just make sure to bring a hammer!
