All about the girl

What to say about the girl? I feel lik we have these posts often because honestly, we don't know what to do with this kid. She is so opposite to Clark sometimes that we feel like we are just making up the parenting thing all over again.

Last week she begged and begged to ride her new-to-her bike (since Clark got a shiny new red one for his birthday...oh yeah, did I forget he is spoiled??) but the weather just wouldn't cooperate. It was either raining or 102. So....we kept telling her this weekend. And then it was 95 this weekend but she had not forgotten. So out we went and the first attempt did not go well. She wanted to use her feet like the balance bike and then wanted Dana to never let go. So after 10 minutes she gave up and we were like, sweet, we'll figure that out later.

Then Saturday morning she wanted to try again. This time, in true Char fashion she put on her determined face and just refused to quit. Five minutes later Dana comes inside to tell me she's up and down the street all by herself. Since then she's insisted on riding to school every morning and even rode across the grass to the park after school one day.
There is no telling this little lady what she can and cannot do once she sets her mind to it. And it helps to have a hilarious older brother who made up this pose all by himself:)
Then last Sunday was her piano recital. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from nerves but she jumped right up and didn't even sit down the whole time she played (because she's so tiny...hee hee) and made it through the whole song without her music, glancing at me and Sister Hopper the whole time with a grin.
And then we rode bikes in the parking lot because of course we did!
