Char got a 'new' helmet from the Farmers. Yes, it is Elsa. No, it does not fit. And meh, we don't care. This girl is a biking fiend lately. She refuses to go in the stroller (unless it's 106 of course).
She has to fight her brother usually for the pink bike because he has started using it to evil kenivel down the driveway into the street. He is weirdly good at it:)
We spent a day organizing closets and sizing out clothes. Sadly, it was time for the beloved PJ Mask pjs to be retired (since they are up to Clark's knees) but thankfully they went to a very grateful recipient. Seriously, she has never fought us on pjs before and now if the PJ Masks aren't clean it's the mother of a all fits. She looks pretty funny in them, we think.
We bought a tent at Costco and needed to test it out and since I don't really want to camp, the obviously solution was to toss it up in the backyard and let the boys have a campout. We put Char to bed, set up the tent in record time, roasted some woofums, and then they watched Avengers in the tent. 
They slept the whole night through and woke up to birds chirping and the smell of bacon from the kitchen and I'm totally kidding about this because it's our kid and so of course he woke Dana up at midnight saying he was bored and wanted to go inside:) Dana was not amused but they trekked inside and the next day we took it all down. Success!
For Char's 3rd birthday we got her a water table to help beat the summer heat. It's been a great success. They play for hours at a time. At first we just wore normal clothes like goobers but those quickly got wet, so we stripped down to undies and diapers. But of course, you still need to protect your little tootsies so Char decided it was a boots kinda day. Cool.
And if she gets really wet, Dad will always oblige with a sweatshirt.
We've tried some new foods this summer like watermelon, grapes, ice pops and Danimals yogurts.
We spend most of our mornings at either the Moxee park or the Selah park. These animals are a favorite attraction along with running through the sprinkler puddles. These kids are seriously cheap dates.
Every Wednesday we pick up Gabe Moss (cause his mom has twin 2 year olds and just had a baby so the lady can use a break) and take him with us to the park. Then we wait in a giant snaking line at the Valley Mall for toy bags. One week was superheros and the next was dragons.
Summer has been made sweeter by good friends who save us from 100 degree weeks. While Dana was in Colorado hiking, Ashley Hammond invited us over to use her little kid pool. It was so nice we went back 3 times that week. And I got to enjoy Mommy chat time while they were worn out. Trish invited us to visit her pool too which was awesome, minus Char pooping in her swim diaper. That is a memory I will never speak of and which she will NEVER repeat (she promised!)
The Steckers stopped by one night with big rolls of paper and fancy melted crayons for the kids to do art projects with. Do we have the best ward or what?
And while Dana was gone, I got super brave and took them to the Arboretum myself. It was a cloudy warm day and we spent 2 full hours running around, avoiding angry geese, and tossing rocks into any body of water we could find. 
I feel confident saying we had a great July and are ready for a stellar August!
*Covid update - Yakima's numbers are steadily going down (about 60 per day) but we have to get to 63 per 2 weeks to move into Phase 2. The rest of the state is going up, unfortunately, so Inslee has scaled back some things that were open. We are currently in 1.5 and can do some things but no pools are really open or bounce houses or gymnastics or...you get the idea. It's all closed up.
We also just got notified that because of our numbers, school will start fully online in September. I, for one, am super bummed about this. But we are moving forward with plans to make it more sucessful than the Spring and crossing our fingers that once our numbers drop (or a vaccine arrives) that we can get back to normal.
