IT"S A BOY!!!!!

Uh...at least we think so. It's blue anyway.
Meet the newest proud member of the Gailan family. Here are the stats: He was born some time during the summer of 1974 (which makes him eight years OLDER than Dana for those of you keeping track). He weighs approximately 4 thousand pounds, give or take, and he was once a lovely burgundy, now turned primer blue. He is an original Herbie model (yes like in the movie), has all the original interior (not for long!)and his Daddy fits inside of him which is a miracle.

For those of you who don't know (or read my amazing blogs, yeesh) Dana has always wanted a really old Volkswagen Beetle Bug and he missed out on the opportunity of a lifetime when he was in high school and a really hot girl at school was selling one but he chickened out. He's never lived it down and so after much debate, we finally found one that runs, fits the budget, and restores his awesomeness. The long term plan is to work on it himself and call in a mechanic if necessary. Eventually, we will pass it on as a gift to our children (love you too unborn babies!). No name yet so feel free to submit suggestions although I want to call him "the Herbs".

*Editor's note: Remember that part about it running? Yeah, not so much anymore. Good thing we have Matt's stunning muscles to move it when the engine doesn't cooperate. Stay tuned for more fun adventures with the Herbs.
**Additional Note. Dana would like it to be known that he and Matt stripped off and readjusted some wires and she starts up like a beaute. Let it be known that he is indeed a MAN, covered in grease, tinkering away with his bolts. So there:)

Matt will be so jealous! He's always wanted a Herbie, too.
