Happy 4th-Birth-of July

Going backwards cause that's how my photos loaded and that's the level of laziness I'm at right now in life:)

My birthday this year was awesome! We did Indian food and pie and a date night planned to perfection by Dana (see how I talk you up, boo?). But before all that we did a camping trip at Ensign with the Rumsey's and the Dahl's. Camping with friends is the way to go.

The Slip N Slide was of course the highlight. Charlotte attached herself quite readily to the Rumseys which Clark played it cool with Jeffrey and Dana...well...Dana was just being himself.

Mini golf was themed around activities at the Ranch, which was cute. Clark tried to kill the ducks at one hole but otherwise everyone kept their cool.
I missed all the night photos because we were having to much fun splashing in the stream, chasing each other around with light sabers, and cooking dinner in 95 degree heat in full sunshine. Memo to us: pick a shadier site next time. The kids both slept as good as we could hope for with neighbors blaring music and cars driving up and down the road until 2AM and look how chipper *some of them are in the morning.

Moving back to the 4th of July!

Breakfast at the Basford's where Charlotte thankfully avoided the bees (Ezra and Josh were not so lucky) and Clark hung with Timmy.

Then home to put on our headphones cause the fireworks were already booming. We made jello, salad, and of course some groot cups for Char's birthday.

The fam arrived for delicious food and we got busy eating and celebrating birthdays and watching Matt light off fireworks and Dana light our lawn on fire (just the one time)

Poor Miss Char was so afraid of the noises that she came out twice but really spent the whole evening in her room. Thank goodness for cool cousins who would playing for a bit and talk to her through the window. Also yay for her new astronaut barbie (thanks Aunt Kristen!) who became a comfort object when the fireworks got truly crazy.

We say it every year but 4th of July is really the best!

Oh but let's not forget her actual birthday. Very low key this year with I AM GROOT themed pizza and pie. Happy 6th birthday to this cute little button who has so much to say and not enough hours in the day. (Don't worry, she'll get up extra early to make time)
