Just January

Slowly making it through this year. January was a fun and cold one!

We tried to do dinner outdoors in a tent at Waterfire with the Reiersens. Yeah, the wind slapped us in the face and said "no!". So we settled for pizza back at their place and then Dana tried out their new VR headseat. He's being a Jedi if you couldn't tell:)

I got bored and tried to do little Miss's hair one Sunday. This is how she felt about the pig tails. 

But she was okay with the little panda buns:)

Got school pictures back. Yeah...not gonna buy either of those. LOL.

Charlotte spends a LOT of time in the car now while we drop Clark off, wait for her school to start, then wait for Clark some more. I let her chill in the front seat and she seems to enjoy that...as long as I do Little Ducks 20 times a day. 

Forts have become a real thing during this cold month. Along with fort fights. Lots of fort fights. 

One day we played with headbands. 80s all the way baby!

And then Charlotte became a plumber on day and wanted to carry this small hammer around in her pants the whole night. Okay, why not?

Got this gem from Mr. Clark's teachers. He is rocking 1st grade. And his mask. And his coat. Which he wears ALL. DAY. LONG. I asked him why and he just shrugged. That's a good answer. 

So much snow! We got some on a Wednesday and because it wasn't a daddy day that meant Mom had to suck it up and go outside. We made a small, stiff snowman and Clark stole some rocks from our backyard for eyes, buttons and a hat. Charlotte spent most of the time going up and down the slide. Cause...sure, why not?

Clark let me do Crazy Hair Day this year. This is about as crazy as we could get and by the time Dana got home, it looked totally normal again:)

And finally, a breath of normalcy. Restaurants in Yakima are allowed to open 25% capacity if they turn off their heat and open ALL the doors. So basically, you can eat buffalo wild wings in an igloo if that appeals to you. It does NOT to me. But some restaurants are bending the rules and that is how I ended up in a slightly cold, but manageable White House Cafe with these lovely ladies for a mask free, indoor lunch. Heaven! 

PS - McCrackens are moving back to Yakima permanently so maybe Covid was worth it after all! Also, Jessica invited us to Belize next April so 2022 is shaping up to be my favorite year.
