OCT - WHOA - BER

 October came in like a bang! Big beautiful, warm weather. New friends. And an exciting announcement from school!

But first, we had bugs. Seriously weird little beetle bugs. Every day we would find 7 or 8 just aimlessly wandering around. Clark got really good at smashing them (and flies). Our pest people came and they are slowly disappearing. So gross. 

We got a new Bishop! With our numbers slowing we are now allowed to return with 50 people at a time to church. Which was just barely enough to have call our new bishopric: Alan Bade, Mike Crook, and Jorge Barrientos. Very excited to be working with these amazing men. We now get to add Church to the growing list of things we do over Zoom. The kids watched our first Sacrament and were mesmerized to see people they knew up on the big TV. So famous!

We spent one Saturday down with the Pasco Gailans while Dana did a CE all day. Stells practiced biking on Clark's sweet ride and we had a fabulous, warm afternoon with just the girls...and Clark. 

Had to put this in. Char used to be a good sleeper. Not anymore. Now she sit right by her door, ear pressed to the crack, listening for any noise so she can interact with us. This is a common sight of her long hair peeking out from under the door. A few nights she actually fell asleep like this and woke up around 9 confused and screaming. So weird baby. 

The park is literally where we live every day. We've met new friends like the Pyfers and lots of old friends too. We've learned some new tricks like swing spinning and just generally lived our best lives. And for the record: no I did not use a filter on this photo. This was taken during FIRE WEEK 2020. Because, why not right? When we've already had Covid and murder hornets and a thousand other things this year, why not throw in a week of toxic fires blanketing the entire West coast. Seriously though, it was insane! The sky was orange for a full 7 days. The hazard index (which I have never in my life checked before) was at 480 out of 500 in Yakima. It was in the 600s in Portland and California. We were so relieved when the wind picked up one Friday and blew it all away. 

Clark got invited to a birthday party and they let Charlotte come along which was awesome because she LOVED it! They had cake and presents and let them paint in the garage. Yeah, guess how much baby girl got into the painting. Even Clark made a pretty passable cat:) 

So yeah, September ended weird and October was a big relief. And Charlotte was a little bit 80s one day:)

And just as we were getting the hang of virtual schooling they up and make my year by announcing in school hybrid will resume October 26th. YESSSS!! I cannot stress how much we need this. Fingers crossed 2020 doesn't throw us another curve ball before then.
