Cha-cha-cha--cha-Changes...

In life, change is inevitable. For the Gailans, change is awesome. It started last month with this:
Dana's 'holy cow, what are we doing?' face. We are painting love. Actually painting!!!!


Or we could do the whole wall. Boom!

Isn't the wall gorgeous? It's the perfect accent in the room. We're still hunting for some curtains to match but it already makes the house feel like home. That was the first change. But then Dana loved it so much that he called me up at work on day and said he was buying grey paint and not to worry, I would love it. Ummm....grey? Yup. Slate Grey. He's so lucky I did love it because he did the whole bedroom. I came home worried it would be sad, sad clouds, but it so isn't. We're going to accent with red.

The third change...

WHAAAAAAAAAAATTTTT???  No photoshop, people. Dana spent two weeks growing this bad boy. It was quite the hit with the Young Men...and the old men...any men really. Only the women understood my eye rolls. Don't worry, it's gone...for now.

The mustache wasn't the only macho thing Dana did. He also switched out his sneakers for these sweet basketball shoes that he shows off on the court three times a week at 5:30AM. The color is Poison. Sounds about right. Eee gad, Dana. At least they were on sale:)


So by now you may be asking yourself: mustache? all that painting? how did Dana find the time? Well, that's the last big change. So back in August Dana got the prompting that it was time to switch careers. He loved his boss and office but wasn't so in love with the billable hours and the litigation. We prayed and fasted and felt it was right so his last day at Englund Law was September 15th. It was a bitter sweet parting with Brad and Julie who we've loved so much and have been such a blessing in our lives. We're so happy we'll get to see them at church functions!

Dana sent out his resume and quickly found a promising lead as a Compliance Officer with a wonderful company. They offered him a job and he accepted, starting October 1st. That left him two weeks to finally take a break, paint some walls, and buy some ugly, er, I mean, super cool shoes. He loves, loves, loves the new company and we know this change was for the best.
