We did it again! Our 9th Carve Off went off with a bang. First, I have to say that our decorations finally lived up to my standards (except the spider I tried to hang from the ceiling. Stupid spider). Otherwise, our decorations rocked!
The cupcakes were supposed to be blood orange but apparently we forgot that red and white make pink:) Those are little edible human bones on the cupcakes, just fyi.
Most of our friends brought normal pumpkins (or even small baby ones) to carve but the Kearns took it up a notch with this:
Whoa! This is officially our biggest pumpkin at over 70 lbs. Nice.
We usually set out metal bowls for people to dump their pumpkin guts into but we decided Alan's jumbokin deserved it's own trash can.
This year we tried a new method with our pumpkin called surface carving. We basically used a little orange razor with different semi-sharp blades to carve out an awesome pattern on the front.

A few things...
1. Congrats on the new job!
2. Love the wall colors. We painted a few walls gray in Virginia ("wet cement") and LOVED it.
3. We know the Kearns from our Provo ward. Small world!
