March's highlight was hitting up an All American Hockey game with Matt and Kristen and the girls. Matt scored sweet box tickets which meant we watched the game in style with free popcorn and great plushy seats. The kids loved hanging with cousins and ringing the cowbell whenever the home team scored.
Unfortunately, the game went into overtime which was pretty late already for our Gailan clan so we took off and found out later from Matt that the All American's won in like the first two minutes of overtime. What??? Bummer! We were sad to miss it. Still so much fun watching these cousins grow.
I am officially an old lady. After a nerve conduction study confirmed carpal tunnel (and possibly cubital tunnel...see all these big terms I now know), I debated surgery and finally decided to try injections instead. But the Gailan doctor curse is strong so of course my nerve conduction Dr. is now no longer working. So I start again with a PCP. To tide me over, Kim recommended this Voltaren arthritis cream which works but makes me smell like I'm 80.
Somehow talked my way into Clark's 3rd grade field trip. Timmy went to a weird one woman production of Cinderella the week before so we were nervous but the 3rd graders got to see Dr. Ka-Boom! He was AWESOME! It was STEM oriented with lots of fun facts (did you know there is no such thing as suction, so vacuum companies are selling us a line). Clark was good natured about his Mom coming along and allowed this one brief photo to mark the occasion.
We start soccer in a few weeks but for a while it seemed we might get on Brother Rumsey's baseball team (alas no!) but he was good enough to pitch for all the kids one warm afternoon. Both kiddos were not great, to be honest, but the gave it their all and had a fun.
The Church's invited us to walk the Greenway down to the park one Sunday so we took the scooters out for their first voyage of the year. Since then they have become an obsession every afternoon or on weekends at the skate park.
Charlotte put her socks on her hands one night and delighted us with an impromptu puppet show. Okay.
I delved into a new hobby - sourdough! I've only made one bread loaf so far and some waffles but they are delightful and Dana is quite happy to support this new endeavor.
Oh we have had fun in March. The kiddos snuggle every Saturday morning watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We hit up the park when it's nice and even when it's not nice. We survived half days and are looking forward to General Conference, Easter, and some sunshine! Anytime. Seriously. C'mon.
