Easter Fun!

We LOOOOVE Easter in the Gailan house. It came early this year in March but luckily we got nice weather to celebrate this special holiday. We started off on Friday (since Momma was off work...oooh yeah!) with a lazy morning and then met up with Aunt Kristen, Uncle Matt, and baby Stella at Franklin park to feed the ducks and play on their awesome playground.

Clark thought the ducks were terrifying at first but after Aunt Kristen showed him how to throw yummy bread to them he got the point. He loves throwing stuff anyway:)

The playground at Franklin is really neat. The best was this little baby merry go round. Clark just cracked up every time he came around the corner and saw Uncle Matt.

We finished off our awesome day with dinner at Bob's Burger and Brew. I'm never impressed with Bob's but Dana was in the mood for some red meat so off we went. They ran out of baby cups but clark seemed to enjoy his water/coffee:)

And then Saturday. Sadly, Dana had to go do his volunteer hours at the hospital so we flew solo in the morning. It was supposed to be a nice relaxing morning with an easter egg hunt thrown in there. Instead, it became a crazy mad dash as I tried to find salsa, dice a bunch of veggies to get into the crock pot for the Enchiladas we were bringing to Easter and then dash over to Moxee park for the egg hunt. We made it - sweaty and in a bad mood but we made it. Clark even figured out the whole concept of 'find egg, put in basket' after a few minutes and we made out with quite a good haul. Later that morning when Dad returned, we opened them to find nasty gummies, stickers, and one milky way. Clark didn't care - he's just in love with the popping open of the eggs. That afternoon we went for the annual Gailan Easter and got to see all the cousins and aunts and uncles and eat bunny cake and roll down Grandma and Grandpa Gailan's hill.

And then Easter Sunday! We laid out his easter basket the night before. Yes, most of the items in it were for Mom and Dad to eat but Dana also found a sweet Mr. Potato Head and Play Doh at Wal-Mart. He hasn't figured out the Play Doh yet but the Mr. Potato Head is a big hit.

But the real celebration was later that day when we got to go to church and hear the beautiful choir and take the Sacrament and listen to Easter lessons. We are so grateful for the reminder of the true purpose of Easter. Yes, all the candy and hunts and family get togethers are wonderful but we know the true reason is to celebrate Jesus Christ's resurrection and the amazing blessing that is for all of us. We are so grateful for our Savior and are so grateful that we get to teach Clark about his Savior. Happy Easter! #Hallelujah
