The sun has returned people and we went from cloudy freezing rain to 62 and sunny over Valentine's weekend. What a perfect gift. Valentine's Day was honestly the best. I woke up to a surprise package of goodies, funny photos of Clark and foot massage coupons (plus unlimited snuggles for life:)) On my end, I got Dana his favorite spicy chips and made him fondu after little man went to bed. We went for a sunny walk down the greenway and basically just had the best day, followed by a Monday off for President's Day.
And now to what you really care about - Clark. He hit the 9 month mark much to my surprise (I'm convinced he's still like 2 weeks old). He had his check up (and a rather unfortunate misadventure with a needle in his right arm). He's 18 lbs (25th%) and 26 inches (ummm...yeah about that. Can we call it -10%??). Yup, he has fallen off the charts but that's okay because he's just the perfect size for us. He's eating everything in sight from guava/pear/strawberry mixes to the more exotic cinnamon raisin mash. He'll make a disgusted face with each new bite but hey he keeps eating. He giggles up a storm, breaks into tears whenever Uncle Matt is near and likes making faces at people in the pew behind us at church. He's also still our consistent good sleeper, even if it is in weird positions, and he loves his bed time buddies - Clifford, Pooh, and the soft monkey. He also hit a huge milestone just this morning (2/24) with his very first tooth popping through. Super exciting! And then there is this:
Yeaaaaah. Okay weirdo. So he is resolutely opposed to crawling. It's not a lack of skill. No sir, he's got the abs, he's got the rocking, he's got the mobility; it's just he would rather get to his toys using alternative methods - like backwards, or rolling, or face planting and yelling at the parentals until the object appears in his hands Harry Potter style. We love this little strange person. Keep on growing short round.
