2010 has been such a blessed year and we wanted to take the time this Christmas season to share it with those we love the most.
See Ya’ll Later: All good things must come to an end...even Law School. Our three years as Texans were over in May. It was all a bit traumatic with teary goodbyes, long ceremonies, and the realization that we can fit everything we own into a 5X5 foot pod. We headed out for the great Northwest with nothing but our trusty old AMR, a couple extra letters behind our names, fun new vocabulary words, and many fond memories.
The Palm Springs of Washington: We quickly settled into our new digs in Yakima, along with our seriously amazing ward, new callings as Sunday School teachers (they love Dana’s bowties!), and jobs. I work as a Paraplanner for Leonard Rickey Investment Advisors and Dana is an Associate at Englund Law, P.S. To get that job, he had to pass the bar and whew was that a summer we will never forget! But he did it and he is now a proud member of the Washington State Bar Association. We love our jobs! They are fulfilling, mostly amusing, sometimes perplexing, but always educating.
New, New for You: A new town means new adventures and new things to try. We bought Dana’s dream car, a Volkswagen Beetle Bug and once it runs, it’ll be great. Promise. We live near family for the first time ever. Lots of family. We love ‘em. They make us laugh and for once we always have plans for the holidays! We have a new appreciation for good seafood (since it can be found up here) and because it’s been a wet winter so far, we finally bought our first snow shovel.
Blessed? You Bet: It’s been a tough year for so many people around the world and we’ve had our own times of uncertainty and worry but we are so very blessed. We have family we love and jobs we adore. Our health is good, our tummies full. We have all we could ever need and enough to share. But most importantly, we have know that Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer lives and that he loves us. We know he loves you all too. We wish you the happiest of Christmas’ and a bright New Year.
